This app takes you back in time, allowing you to read and search the monthly newsletters of the Tampa PC Users Group from 1988 through 2013. The first three years are a bit spotty, but beginning with 1991 the collection is complete. The Home Page consists of a scrollable collection of newsletter front pages. A tap on a front page will bring up that month’s newsletter in PDF format that may be manipulated with the usual finger gestures and easily read. In viewing the newsletter pages, having a touch screen monitor is definitely a plus.
These newsletters, published monthly, are a virtual store of personal computing history, information and news. And the search feature is your window to this information. Simply open...

The newsletters from 1988 through November 1995 were scanned from paper documents into Adobe Acrobat and then optical character recognition was performed to produce the searchable text. For this reason the searches on the early newsletters will undoubtedly miss some text. All subsequent newsletters were printed directly to Acrobat from Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign. For that reason, the textual searches will miss nothing. When viewed in the app, the early newsletters are PDF files, where the pages are images. Beginning in 1996, the newsletters are PDF files consisting of text.
A little History: The Tampa PC Users Group was founded in 1984 as the IBM PC Users Group because of the burgeoning interest in IBM's personal computer. Later IBM was dropped from the name. The Tampa PC Users Group web site is http://www.tpcug.org.
